Maureen A. Patterson, Ed.D

Dr. Maureen A Patterson is the Director of the Education Leadership Programs at Le Moyne College. She guides the development of programming – LEADS, CNY Leadership Development Program, and the traditional programs leading to certification in School Building and School District Leadership, School District Business Leadership – developing courses and designing innovative instruction and assessments for hybrid and online courses.
Her 40-year career in education has spanned experiences as a special education teacher and administrator in public school systems and BOCES, to an elementary principal, secondary principal, and Assistant Superintendent in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. She retired from Liverpool Central School District after leading the administrative team and district staff to meet the challenges of changing demographics, increasing expectations for academic achievement and school improvement, and evolving standards for learning, teachers, and leaders. As a graduate of the Inquiry Program in Organizational Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University, she earned her doctorate conducting research on family school involvement. Dr. Patterson is a professional developer, coach and mentor. She frequently receives requests to provide training and guidance on leadership, supervision and evaluation, grant writing, branding and interviewing, family-school engagement, and mentorship.
As a member of the Government Relations Committee (GRC) for SAANYS (School Administrators Association of NYS), Dr. Patterson has lobbied extensively for educational initiatives and budget issues, conducted professional development for school leaders, and collaborated on white papers about high school reform and RtI (response to intervention). The GRC meets three times each year with the Commissioner of Education and the NYS Education Department Senior team.
