- Assistant Professor Management & Leadership
Dr. Richard (Rick) Reed is an Assistant Professor of Management, Leadership and Human Resource Management and will be joining the faculty of the Madden School of Business and Economics in the Fall of 2024. Rick earned his Ph.D. from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado in the Spring of 2024, as well as his MBA degree from CU and his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Oregon. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Rick was a faculty member at the University of Colorado where he taught a range of courses, from traditional courses such as BCOR 3010 (an applied ethics course exploring corporate social responsibility) to more idiosyncratic courses such as BCOR 1015 (an exploration of the contextual forces impacting business and their leaders including scarcity, fairness, property rights, globalization, etc.). At Le Moyne, Rick is excited to teach Organizational Behavior to both undergraduate and graduate students. His research is eclectic as well, with projects exploring perceptions and attitudes when people interact with AI algorithms at work, reconceptualizing psychological entitlement as a multifaceted construct to untangle its causes and outcomes, and connecting various historical views on wellbeing, such as hedonic and eudemonic, to address mental health struggles. When not in the office, Rick can be found outside exploring beautiful Central New York hiking trails with his wife and daughter.
