Mathematics Courses

In addition to courses in algebra, calculus and statistics, you'll study the mathematics of decision making, differential equations, probability theory and more. You'll also have many opportunities to pursue advanced research projects.

Research & Scholarship Opportunities

As a mathematics student, there are opportunities for you to apply for scholarships and research funding to your education and enhance your resume. The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship provides scholarships for talented juniors and seniors majoring in STEM fields to become secondary school teachers. You could receive up to full tuition for the fall and spring semesters.The Clare Boothe Luce Research Scholars Program for Women supports undergraduate women majoring in chemistry, computer science, mathematics or physics to study and teach in the sciences, mathematics and engineering.

Our mathematics faculty are applied statisticians, long-time educators and active researchers whose work includes a wide variety of topics including measurement error models, missing data, small area estimation, uniform central graphs, problems in fluid dynamics and geometry.
