Next step? Orientation! Get ready for your first rite of passage as a Dolphin – Le Moyne’s first-year orientation program, Heading to the Heights.
Important dates on your road to the Heights
Here’s a guide to important deadlines. If you have any questions, contact orientation@lemoyne.edu.
- May 15 – Deadline to complete your New Student Checklist. Confirm your major, provide your academic preferences, and sign up for Summer Welcome and Advising Week sessions.
- May and June – Attend one of four virtual summer welcome sessions. Sign up in your portal for this online group meeting.
- Mid-June – Attend a virtual group advising session for your major. Sign up in your portal for a meeting with an academic advisor in your discipline and fellow classmates.
- July 1 – Deadline to complete important steps such as your housing application, foreign language placement, financial aid acceptance, etc.
- August 1 – Deadline to complete additional steps such as submitting your required health forms, providing your COR 100 preferences, preparing for your student ID, etc.
- August 20 – First-year residents will check in and move into their new room. Optional sessions will be available for students and families to learn more about Le Moyne.
- August 21-23 – Students will take part in Fall Arrival, a three-day in person orientation program required of all new first-year students.
- August 25 – Students will attend the first day of fall classes.
- August 27 – Attend Le Moyne’s Mass of the Holy Spirit, an annual tradition celebrating the start of the academic year (optional). Mass is followed by a campus-wide picnic. Classes scheduled for 11 a.m. and 12 Noon will not be held. Classes resume at 1 p.m.
Orientation Events for You!
Our orientation program begins with our virtual Summer Welcomes and concludes with Fall Arrival as you prepare on campus for your first college days. Through thoughtful programming and events, you'll meet your your classmates, faculty and the Le Moyne College community who can’t wait to welcome you!

(Required) Join us for one of four Summer Welcome sessions. These sessions last about one hour and are conducted via Zoom. During it, you’ll meet your class dean and learn how to prepare for orientation and your first semester at Le Moyne. All students are required to attend, but we strongly encourage you to participate alongside your family so that everyone is in the loop. RSVP using your Student Portal.

Online
(Required) Sign up for an Advising Week session to discuss your major and get access to a draft of your fall courses. These group meetings held on Zoom will provide you and fellow students with an opportunity to talk with a faculty member representing your major. (Undeclared students will meet with trained advisors in the Student Success Center.) Schedule changes will still occur throughout the summer, but this sneak peak can be really helpful. (Optional) Do you want even more information about Le Moyne? Students and families are strongly encouraged to attend Heading to the Heights this summer. These day-long visits to campus are a great way for students and families to settle in even more. Hear about academics and getting involved while you get your questions answered. On Campus
(Required) Moving onto campus may make you excited and a bit nervous. We understand, so we have set aside a whole day for this for first-year students. We offer a centralized check-in process so you’ll get your orientation materials and key at the College’s Event Center. You’ll then drive over to your residence hall as your belongings get carried to your room by Le Moyne’s move-in crew. This squad of resident advisors and orientation leaders will cheer you on as you get settled in.

On Campus
(Required) As a member of the Class of ’29, you’ll participate in Le Moyne’s three day orientation program. Designed to support both commuting and residential students, you’ll gather with classmates for programming that will help you start the semester strong. During Fall Arrival, you get to meet your academic advisor and engage in activities that showcase resources and support services. We will end our orientation program festivities by celebrating the start of the new school year!
The Class of 2029 is on ZeeMee! Join your fellow Dolphins on the official social media channel for the Class of 2029 – ZeeMee. This exclusive group for first-year students who’ve committed to Le Moyne is an informal way to meet fellow new ‘Phins, connect with your future roommate, join live virtual social events and more!
