“16 Bars” is a documentary exploring the lives of inmates in a Richmond, Va. jail who participate in a music-based rehabilitation program. Led by Grammy-winning artist Todd “Speech” Thomas, the inmates write and record music, seeking redemption and purpose. The film showcases music’s transformative power and tackles themes of incarceration and personal growth.

The screening will take place on Tuesday, April 8 at 5 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. It is part of a film series during the spring 2025 semester sponsored by the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate program and It’s About Childhood and Family, Inc.
