Jodi Dean is a political theorist and professor in the Department of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Her scholarly interests include contemporary and modern political theory, communism and theories of digital media, as well as poststructuralism, psychoanalysis, feminist theory, and climate change. She is author of numerous books, including Democracy
and Other Neoliberal Fantasies (Duke University Press 2009), Blog Theory (Cambridge: Polity Press, 2010) and Crowds and Party (London & New York: Verso Books, 2016). This event is co-sponsored with the Social Science Seminar. She recently co-edited Organize, Fight, Win: Black Communist Women’s Political Writing (London & New York: Verso Books, 2022).
