Service Opportunities
Creating Hope for Your Future
At Le Moyne, we believe that you have the chance to make an impact in our community and in the world through local service projects, service-immersion trips and post-graduate service. The choice is yours! Through all our service opportunities, you will see for yourself how the Jesuit idea of service is rooted in justice and love. You’ll find yourself becoming more aware of the challenges in society and how you can make a real difference.
Local Service
Ignatian Ignite is a student club that creates programs that embrace our Jesuit identity and celebrate our Jesuit heritage of service, reflection and faith formation. You can participate in activities such as sandwich making and shawl making and donation collection drives.

Teams of Le Moyne students collaborate with We Rise Above the Streets, a community-based group who do hands-on outreach to homeless people, helping to meet their basic needs. Each Saturday, our students volunteer at Sandwich Saturdays, a weekly outdoor distribution of food and personal care items to those struggling with homelessness and those at risk.

Our entire community gathers to spend a morning serving as people for and with others, helping with tasks off campus and on campus. We go to local parks, community centers and organizations serving men, women, children, families, homeless people, hungry people and people with disabilities. We work with local community partners and transportation is provided from campus to service sites. We also offer on campus service sites, a friendly way for families and children to engage in meaningful service. DIVE Days happen every semester, usually in September and April.

A Syracuse-based non-profit organization, the Samaritan Center is dedicated to serving the hungry and those in need. They believe in feeding the hungry not only for survival, but for those to get a chance to catch a break and become self-sufficient members of society. Any student can volunteer at the Center.

Community and Connectedness on the Heights
Service-Immersion Trips
Campus Ministry organizes both domestic and international service immersion trips where you serve with the poor and marginalized. We hope you will learn the value of building relationships across socio-economic lines, increase your awareness of the injustices in the world and connect to the ways that you are being called to build up our human family. Our program incorporates the four cornerstone values of simplicity, spirituality, social justice and solidarity.
