Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King

The College community gathered on February 5th for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Convocation. Melanie Littlejohn, president and CEO of the Central New York Community Foundation, shared how her leadership style – centered on relationship development, collaboration, and compassion – has shaped her extensive experience as a community leader. She spoke on “Love – the New Superpower: The strength of love in leading and living today.”
Event Highlights
"As she spoke, her message was undeniable: love is not just an emotion—it is a force, a revolution, a power that demands action." The Dolphin

“Love isn’t easy. If I don’t focus on love and healing, I should pack it up…We need love more than ever — not as a fleeting sentiment, but as a deliberate, unyielding force for change.” Melanie Littlejohn

“What would Martin do?” The answer was resolute. “He would lead in love. The only way to see change.” But love, she reminded us, is not passive. It does not whisper; it roars. “Love requests we have hard conversations,” she asserted. “Love ain’t easy, but it’s worth it.” The Dolphin

We look forward to seeing you on The Heights for an upcoming event.
