The Gardening Club aims to uphold the principles of Laudato Si’, emphasizing the unity of people and the planet as one family. In the Jesuit tradition of environmental stewardship, the club seeks to promote education and action in caring for the environment.
Cultivating Sustainability on The Heights
By fostering an appreciation for nature and championing eco-friendly practices, the Gardening Club is growing more than just plants—they’re cultivating a greener, more sustainable future for the entire campus community.
The club recently held a Stepping Stone event which was a huge success. “Thank you so much to everyone who joined us to create beautiful stepping stones for our Butterfly Garden outside of the PAC. Your creativity and enthusiasm have added a personal touch to one of our most beloved green spaces.”
A cornerstone of their work is maintaining our favorite campus green spaces, including the Community Garden, Butterfly Garden, and No-Mow Zones. These areas not only support biodiversity but also support our commitment to sustainability.
The club works year-round to engage the community, hosting workshops to showcase the benefits of gardening, encouraging environmentally friendly habits, and diversifying plant life across campus.
