Diversity and Inclusion on The Heights
At Le Moyne, we strive to create a campus environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered. The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) leads this effort, offering a wide range of programs, events, and resources to celebrate the unique identities and experiences that enrich our community.
Inclusion in Focus

Annual events like our AfroGala, Latinx Banquet, and South Asian Banquet offer experiences with traditional food, music, and performances, creating opportunities for us to all learn and celebrate together.

Engaging discussions and campaigns like “Culture is Not a Costume” bring inclusivity to the forefront of campus culture.

On The Heights, you can join numerous student organizations that showcase diversity, equity, and inclusion.

One of the fastest-growing groups on campus, the First-Generation Club offers support, mentorship, and a sense of community for first-generation students navigating college life.
At Le Moyne, we don’t just talk about inclusion—we live it. From cultural celebrations to personal connections, our campus is a place where every student can find their voice, their people, and their sense of belonging.
A Community for All
At Le Moyne, diversity is something we celebrate year-round with events and activities that highlight the rich tapestry of cultures represented on campus:
- Heritage Months: Months dedicated to honoring different heritages through educational programs, collaborative events, and delicious cuisine provided by the dining center.
- Signature Banquets: Events like our AfroGala, Latinx Banquet, and South Asian Banquet offer experiences with traditional food, music, and performances, creating opportunities to learn and celebrate together.
- Campaigns for Awareness: Initiatives like “Culture is Not a Costume” during Halloween encourage respect and understanding, fostering a campus culture of inclusivity and mutual respect.
We host recurring programs designed to connect students and build a sense of belonging:
- Coffee Gatherings, Discussions & Workshops: Hosted throughout the year in partnership with various campus offices.
- Barbershop Program: Blending accessibility with community, the on-campus haircut services ensure that all students have access to professional styling without the need to leave campus—a resource that underscores our commitment to inclusion and convenience.
- Welcome Back Reception: At the start of each semester, EDIB hosts welcome receptions open to all students and members of the College community. These receptions are a great chance to learn more about the students, staff, and faculty who live, learn, and work on the Heights
Le Moyne supports numerous student organizations that support diversity, equity, and inclusion:
- First-Generation Club: One of the fastest-growing groups on campus, this club offers support, mentorship, and a sense of community for first-generation students navigating college life.

- Collaborations with Alumni: The EDIB office works closely with alumni to connect students with mentors who share their backgrounds and experiences, offering valuable career guidance and inspiration.
Physical spaces on campus play an important role in fostering inclusion:
- Belonging Lounge: Located in Riley Hall, this student-exclusive space is a haven for relaxation and community building. Generously supported by alumni, it offers comfortable seating, a TV, and monthly snacks provided by sponsors.
- Campus-Wide Accessibility: From inclusive dining options to accessible programming, our campus is designed to ensure that all students feel welcome and represented.
