STEP for STEM Prep
The Le Moyne STEP program serves 99+ local students.
The Le Moyne College Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) is one of 51 STEP programs in New York State preparing historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students from Nottingham High School, Henninger High School, Syracuse Middle Schools and all of Onondaga County for college.
Collaborating with the New York State Department of Education and the Syracuse City School District since 1987, we’re proud of our students’ pursuit of careers in math, science, technology and the health-related or licensed professions.
Am I eligible for the program?
To qualify for STEP, you need to be:
- A New York State resident for at least 1 year
- Historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged
- Interested in pursuing a college major/career in the STEM field and/or licensed professions
About STEP
As part of our STEP program, you can expect:
- Tutoring
- SAT, ACT and Regents preparation
- College application support and career advising
- Opportunities for hands-on research with college faculty
- Conferences, seminars, workshops
- Peer and professional mentoring
