Le Moyne College Hosts Lecture in Honor of Black History Month

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a lecture in honor of Black History Month by Syracuse University professor Dr. Boyce Watkins on Wednesday, February 6, at 6 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. In his talk, titled “The Recipe for Making Black History,” Watkins will address issues such as the importance of African-American ownership and wealth building and high-quality educational opportunities for all.<br /> <br /> One of today’s leading social commentators, Dr. Watkins advocates for education, economic empowerment and social justice. He has presented his message to millions, making regular appearances on various national media outlets including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, BET, NPR, USA Today, and the Today Show. In 2002, he was the only African-American in the U.S. to earn a doctorate in finance. He is currently a professor of finance at Syracuse University.<br /> <br /> This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact (315) 445-4740.</p>
