Le Moyne College Presents Nigerian Pianist Sodi Braide in Recital

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Don't miss Le Moyne College's annual Black History Month concert, this year featuring Nigerian pianist Sodi Braide in recital at the W. Carroll Coyne Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 16, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Braide won attention when he was awarded the Jury Discretionary Prize at the 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. An international traveler, Braide has pursued studies in France, Spain and Italy with such luminaries as Leon Fleisher, Alicia de Larrocha, Fou Ts'ong and Dmitri Bashkirov.<br /> <br /> Currently living in Paris, Braide has performed recitals and chamber concerts in France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg, South Africa and Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador). His Paris debut recital in 2001 was recorded by Radio France for the “Déclic” CD series, sponsored by the French Foreign Ministry.<br /> <br /> For Braide's Le Moyne recital, his first North American appearance since the 2005 Cliburn, he will play selections from his recent recording of piano works by Cesar Franck, as well as other Romantic favorites. <br /> <br /> Tickets are $12 general; $7 seniors; students are free.
