Education Club

This club informs students of current issues in the field of education and teacher preparation. The club's primary resources are the education department, alumni, and experts in the field who discuss various education related topics. Club activities and membership are open to all students in education courses, minors in education, and to all interested students enrolled at Le Moyne College. Upsilon Psi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi is the oldest and most prestigious honor society in education. The Le Moyne Chapter, Upsilon Psi, was chartered in 1995 and all eligible students in the teacher education program are welcome to make application. Application is open to juniors and seniors, and to graduate students/continuous learners who meet the criteria for acceptance.

TASH is an international association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates and professionals working toward a society in which inclusion of all people in all aspects of society is the norm.


Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development -

ASCD provides professional development in curriculum and supervision; initiates and supports activities to provide educational equity for all students; and serves as a world-class leader in education information services.


Center for Urban Education -

The purpose of the Syracuse Center for Urban Education (CUE) is to nurture the development of teachers committed to, and prepared for, the unique challenges of urban education.


Central New York Teaching Center -

The Central New York Teaching Center, one of 125 teacher resource and computer training centers created since 1984 by the New York State Legislature and funded through the New York State Education Department, provides educators with the sites and resources for systematic, ongoing professional development in accordance with their own expressed needs.


The Council for Exceptional Children -

CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities and/or the gifted.


International Reading Association -

IRA seeks to promote high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction through studying the reading process and teaching techniques; serving as a clearing house for the dissemination of reading research through conferences, journals and other publications; and actively encouraging the lifetime reading habit.


National Association for Multicultural Education -

NAME is an organization that brings together individuals and groups with an interest in multicultural education from all levels of education, different academic disciplines and from diverse educational institutions and occupations. NAME today is an active, growing organization with members from throughout the United States and several other countries.


The National Council of Teachers of English -

NCTE is the world's largest subject-matter educational association. It is devoted to improving the teaching of English and the language arts at all levels of education.


National Council of Teachers of Mathematics -

Founded in 1920, NCTM is the world's largest mathematics education organization, with more than 100,000 members and 250 affiliates throughout the United States and Canada. The mission of NCTM is to provide the vision and leadership necessary to ensure a mathematics education of the highest quality for all students.


National Reading Conference -

NRC is the premier literacy research organization in the world.


Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education of the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education -

The Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE) is an international, educational, and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the knowledge, theory, and quality of learning and teaching at all levels with information technology. The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) is the only organization which has as its sole focus the integration of instructional technologies into teacher education programs.
