Welcome to the Alumni Admission Program (AAP)

A key piece to the college admission puzzle, the AAP strives to capture the energy and enthusiasm of Le Moyne alumni in the continuing effort to attract outstanding students to the College. Members of the AAP are valuable for both their knowledge of Le Moyne and the example they set as successful graduates of the college. While meeting with students and championing Le Moyne in their home areas, AAP members are uniquely positioned to highlight the qualities of the students they meet and to share the intangibles that might make them wonderful fits for Le Moyne. Get Involved

The flexible nature of the program allows members to participate as their schedules permit. Members have the option to take part in any of the following opportunities:

College Fairs

Each year many high schools and colleges host college nights. Representatives from different colleges and universities staff tables that are placed in a large, public area, typically a gymnasium or cafeteria. College representatives talk informally to circulating students and their parents while distributing materials and collecting the names of interested prospective students. Le Moyne College is invited to hundreds of these programs annually. With a limited number of Admission staff available to attend each program, volunteering to represent Le Moyne College at a college night is a significant way to help.

Students in New York City

Although Le Moyne College does not require admission interviews (except for certain programs), many students like to meet with an admission representative on a one-to-one basis. Occasionally, a prospective student will request an interview with one of our alumni. When a student is not able to come to campus for an interview, we arrange an off-campus interview with an alumnus/ae. If you agree to interview a prospective student in your area, the Office of Admission will send you instructions for your evaluation. These interviews take place at a mutually convenient location, such as an office or school location. The Office of Admission also coordinates off campus interview events in select metropolitan areas, so keep an eye out for communications regarding these.

Students with President LeMura

Alumni reach out to recently-admitted early action students via a handwritten note. We want to encourage those students who have already been admitted to thoughtfully consider Le Moyne College as an option. The letters can be brief notes, perhaps offering congratulations for the student’s acceptance and including a fond memory you hold from your days at Le Moyne. While we try to match alumni to students from their region, sometimes we will assign a list of students from our top feeder schools, too. You can use a template and then personalize with your Le Moyne experiences.

The Office of Admission also sends out Alumni Testimonials through email and social media campaigns at various points throughout the year. This involves providing our Office of Admission with a few quick words or sentences about your time as a Dolphin, which we will then distribute to prospective students or their parents.

Le Moyne College Campus

Alumni reach out to recently admitted freshmen students, congratulating each student on their admission to the College and offering their experience as a Dolphin.

Students and Families

Alumni can volunteer to host or attend a student send-off for incoming freshmen and their families. This might take place in an alumni’s home, a restaurant, or a park. It is a great way for students to celebrate being a part of the Dolphin family and to get to know other students from their area.

Coffee Shop

Students living far from campus, who are unable to visit campus for an Information Session or Open House, may wish to speak with an alumnae/us from their area. Alumni can volunteer to meet with prospective students and families informally over a cup of coffee (or the like) to introduce Le Moyne and what it has to offer, answer questions, and share their experience as a Dolphin.

Le Moyne OT Students

Alumni may choose to adopt a high school (preferably their alma mater) and act as the Le Moyne representative. This may entail visiting the school to discuss Le Moyne with prospective students and sharing your experience, or attending college fairs if/when the school hosts.
