Le Moyne Hosts Talk on Invasive Plants

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a talk by Sylvan Kaufman on “Plants Gone Wild: Community Solutions to a Growing Problem,” on Friday, October 12, at 3:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium.<br /> <br /> Dr. Kaufman is the conservation curator at the Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely, Md., and recently participated in the Institute for Museum and Library Services’ national conservation summit.<br /> <br /> In addition to her lecture, Kaufman will lead a plant identification field trip beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, at the Le Moyne cross-country field. Field trip participants are invited to bring lunch and plants for Kaufman to identify.<br /> <br /> Both events are free and open to the public. Kaufman’s visit is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Environmental Change at Le Moyne, the Center for Urban and Regional Applied Research and the lecture committee.<br /> <br /> For more information about either the lecture or field trip, call (315) 445-4537.</p>
