Coen, Coen, and Noir: Le Moyne Hosts Weekend Film Fest
Le Moyne College will host a weekend film fest with three separate events that feature discussion on three movies – Fargo, The Man Who Wasn’t There, and Sunset Boulevard – followed by screening of all three films. All events will take place in Grewen Auditorium on the Le Moyne campus.
On Friday, April 16 at 7 p.m., William Rothman, professor, motion pictures, School of Communication at the University of Miami, will present "The Coen Brothers Film I Really Love is Fargo." Following his presentation, there will be a screening of Fargo (1996).
On Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m., Gail Hamner, department of religion, Syracuse University, will discuss, “Joel and Ethan Coen, The Man Who Wasn't There,” followed by a screening of the 2001 film.
The last event will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, when Julie Grossman, department of English and interim dean of arts and sciences at Le Moyne College, presents “Ready for Her Close-up: On Sunset Boulevard,” followed by a screening of the 1950 film.
The film fest is sponsored by the department of philosophy at Le Moyne College and co-sponsored by the Syracuse International Film Festival.
