Le Moyne Launches Direct Entry Pathway for Arts Administration

The Arts Administration program at Le Moyne College will now offer a direct entry pathway for the M.S. Arts Administration program. This track allows students to attain both a bachelor's degree in a major of their choosing, and a Master of Science degree in Arts Administration at Le Moyne College. This program will give students interested in becoming an arts administrator even more flexibility in exploring their interests as an undergraduate, with the assurance of admission to the M.S. Arts Administration program.

Arts Administrators work in a number settings, helping to bridge cultures and enrich communities with all forms of artistic expression. Coursework includes advanced study in marketing, fundraising, governance, human resources, community engagement, and other topics of interest to those interested in a career in the multi-billion dollar arts industry. Read more about current and former students here.

The direct entry pathway is initially open internally to interested Le Moyne undergraduate students. Current students may apply to enter the direct entry pathway for as early as Spring 2022. Once accepted, program benefits include being able to enroll in up to two graduate courses during senior year. Students have the additional option of completing the Arts Administration minor as an undergraduate, which may accelerate their timeline as a graduate student.

Travis Newton, director of the College’s Arts Administration Program says “The direct entry arts administration pathway is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate students to benefit from the breadth of the liberal arts educational experience on our campus, while getting a jumpstart on their graduate studies and a seamless transition to the M.S. Arts Administration. This new program is just one new way Le Moyne and this department are strengthening their commitment to ‘Making Art Work’ and nurturing the next generation of arts leaders.”
