Alumnus Gift Will Launch Human Resource Management Campaign

As announced at last night’s Frank Fernandez alumni dinner, Wayne L'Heureux ’80 has made a gift of $400,000 that will serve as the inaugural gift in a fundraising campaign to benefit future human resource management (HRM) students and provide ongoing support for the program.

L'Heureux graduated from Le Moyne with a bachelor's degree in industrial relations and received his master's from Michigan State University. He has more than 30 years of business and human resources experience in public and private companies, including ULTA Beauty, AutoNation, Volvo Cars North America, Office Depot and Taco Bell Brands Division of PepsiCo. During his career he has led large organizational restructurings, taken on roles with international responsibility and overseen the initial public offering of a private entity.

A long-time member of the Madden Advisory Board and guest lecturer in HRM classes, L'Heureux was presented with the Frank Fernandez Business Leader of the Year Award at the dinner. “Given the complexity of today’s business world, it’s important that HRM students are creative problem solvers and critical thinkers,” said L’Heureux. “Le Moyne taught me these skills and I hope my support will provide similar opportunities for students moving forward.”

“As a Le Moyne graduate, Wayne understands the relevance of Jesuit values and ethics in a profession which has evolved dramatically over the past several decades,” said Jim Joseph ’83, Ed.D. ’23, vice president for advancement and innovation and dean of the Madden College of Business and Economics. “His support will be instrumental in the growth and expansion of an academic program that has been a cornerstone of Le Moyne since its founding in 1946.”
